In the spirit of transparency and accountability, the Division of Equity and Engagement (DEE) will provide regular updates via Campus News. These updates are to ensure that all constituents are aware of what is happening and how we are supporting the mission of Fresno State by weaving equity and inclusion into every aspect of the institution.
Foundationally, it’s important to reiterate the role of the inaugural University Diversity Officer (UDO), and the vision of the newly established Division of Equity and Engagement.
What does the University Diversity Officer do?
Dr. Rashanda Booker, the University Diversity Officer, is a cabinet-level executive who ensures that the institution’s culture values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging by:
- Directly supervising various diversity programs.
- Providing leadership in a facilitating role with key allies and committees.
- Helping to develop and implement long range transformational change.
What is the Division of Equity and Engagement?
The DEE is a newly created division created by the UDO to build the foundation to motivate and galvanize the campus community toward a shared vision of an institution that is welcoming, inclusive, respectful, and free from discrimination, intolerance, and harassment, where all can thrive.
