Ronald Dzerigian, coordinator of Graduate Student Success and Financial Opportunities for the Division of Research and Graduate Studies, is exhibiting recent artworks at the Porterville Community College Art Gallery. A reception and conversation with the artist will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.
Dzerigian, also a Fresno State MFA alumnus and poet, received his bachelor's degree in art from Fresno State in 2002. As stated in the press release for this exhibition of 13 abstract paintings and one sculpture, "Dzerigian’s process prompts reflection on the transience of ownership, the shifting value of objects, and their potential for preservation and reinvention."
Dr. Soua Xiong, assistant professor, Department of Counselor Education and Rehabilitation, released his co-edited book, "A Career in Student Affairs: Reflections from Hmong Student Affairs Educators," through Hmong Educational Resources Publisher.
This book is a collection of reflective essays from Hmong student affairs educators from a wide range of professional levels, institutional settings, and functional areas. Each author, including some from Fresno State, share their journey and experiences in student affairs and also provides advice for Hmong students who are considering a career in student affairs.
