Dear Campus Community,

I want to inform you about a recent development within the CSUEU community. On Sept. 19, a petition was circulated by CSUEU members calling for President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval’s resignation. As an active member of CSUEU who regularly attends meetings, I was surprised that this petition was not previously discussed by CSUEU leaders or included on meeting agendas. The petition has since been shared with local media.

At the CSUEU Chapter 309 meeting on Sept. 24, many members, myself included, hoped to discuss the petition. However, we were informed that the predetermined agenda would not be changed, and the petition would not be addressed. This is in violation of CSUEU bylaws article section 3.4 Rights of Members.

As staff, we have the right to ask questions and receive answers. To provide that opportunity, I have requested a forum for staff to discuss this issue, with CSUEU leadership, including Terry Wilson and Catherine Hutchingson, in attendance.
