October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, dedicated to highlighting the importance of cybersecurity and encouraging mindful practices to protect our information assets.
Technology Services invites all faculty and staff to an in-person cybersecurity presentation from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 10, in the Library, room 2206.
Special Agent Mauro "Adrian" Ramirez-Cazares from the FBI will lead an informative discussion on common types of cyber threats and strategies for protection. Rafael Villegas, information security officer, will provide insights on avoiding phishing scams, followed by closing remarks from Bao Johri, vice president for information technology and chief information officer.
The goal is to enhance our understanding of the importance of safeguarding our data and the sensitive information we manage on behalf of the university.
