The Division of Continuing and Global Education (CGE) invites faculty to submit course proposals for the 2026 Winter Intersession. Undergraduate and postbaccalaureate courses may be proposed. Instruction begins on Friday, Dec. 26 and ends on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Thursday, Jan. 1 is a holiday, leaving 13 days of instruction. Please schedule all instruction and exams within the session. Classes should have 15 contact hours per unit of instruction, equivalent to regular semester classes. Session grades are due on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
All course proposals will be routed through AdobeSign and require the approval of the department chair and dean or associate dean. The deadline to submit a course proposal is Friday, Sept. 26. Some offices may have earlier, internal deadlines. Start an Intersession Course Proposal Form.
Courses in the following areas have been identified as “high need” and may be in greater demand:
- 1B (Formerly GE A3)
- 1C (Formerly GE A1)
- 3B (Formerly GE C2)
- 4A (Formerly GE D1)
- 6 (Formerly GE F)
- UD2/UD5 (Formerly GE IB)
- UD3 (Formerly GE IC)
- UD4 (Formerly GE ID)
- M/I
- PLSI 2
At the direction of the faculty serving on the Writing Competency Subcommittee, UDWR courses must meet for six weeks minimum. To comply, CGE will not accept W courses in Intersession.
There are no minimum enrollment requirements to keep classes on the schedule in Winter Intersession. Each instructor will be contacted to discuss projected pay using actual enrollments under Salary Schedule 2322.

Course proposals require the following signatures in Adobe Sign:
- Form Preparer*
- Instructor
- Department Chair
- Dean
*The Form Preparer may be the instructor, a department staff member, or program coordinator. If the instructor is preparing their own form, they will review the form twice.
