During the summer Dr. Helda Pinzón-Perez, professor in the Department of Public Health, developed, in collaboration with a Fresno State student and a registered nurse from Fresno, an instrument to assess mental health issues related to COVID-19 and other factors among Indigenous people of Oaxaca, Mexico, living in the Central Valley. This team also translated the new instrument into Spanish and common Oaxacan languages such as Mixteco and Zapoteco. The instrument is now available for use by anyone who needs it. This project was developed with support from the College of Health and Human Services and funds from the Chancellor's Office 20-21 Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity Awards.
