Tired of looking for healthier food options on campus, but settling for junk food? Now you can say goodbye to those hamburgers and fries, and say hello to quinoa, kale, and avocado!
The new Healthy Eats menu at The Bucket offers a variety of healthy items including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.
More healthy food, as well as foods that accommodate dietary restrictions, has been a frequent request from the campus community, said Megan Sarantos, University Dining services manager.
“Our goal is to provide the campus community with a variety of dining options so that we have something for everyone,” Sarantos said.
The menu has wraps, salads, and bowls that range in price from $6.25 to $8.75.
New menu items include the Harvest Wrap, a vegetarian option combining hummus, carrots, cucumber, artichoke hearts, red bell pepper, and feta cheese wrapped in a spinach herb tortilla and the Quinoa and Feta Salad with romaine lettuce, cucumber, red bell pepper, feta cheese, walnuts, quinoa and balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Or spice up lunch with the Tex Mex Bowl combining diced grilled chicken, black beans, Pico de Gallo, roasted corn and shredded Jack and cheddar cheese on a bed of brown rice with spicy ranch drizzle.
The Bucket, located in University Center across from the University Student Union, is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays. Order ahead on the Tapingo app.
