The Department of Political Science and the Maddy Institute will host a Constitution Day panel discussion from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Fresno State Library, Room 3212.

In honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States, Fresno State faculty will discuss the post-Revolution vision of the Founding Fathers for the country, whether the current Constitution (written in 1787) was designed to uphold that vision and whether it has succeeded.

The faculty panel will include Drs. Tom Holyoke and Jeff Cummins from political science, Dr. Brad Jones from history, and Dr. Loretta Kensinger from Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Maddy Institute Executive Director Blake Zante will moderate the panel.

National Constitution Day is observed Sept. 17, marking the date the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1787.
