All students, faculty, staff and the community are invited to join us on Monday, Oct. 8, 5:30-6:30 p.m., in IT 101, for a talk with UC Davis Cultural Studies doctoral candidate Elisa Oceguera, "Entre Nosotrxs: Survival Through Storytelling by Trans and Sexually Diverse Farmworkers."
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, agricultural labor is one of the most hazardous occupations in the country. Sexual harassment and discrimination make working conditions in the fields even more dangerous. This event will highlight the invisibilized struggles of trans and sexually diverse farmworkers in agricultural California. The talk will be followed up with a screening and discussion of digital stories from the Sexualidades Campesinas storytelling project.
