In advance of the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 6, Executive Director of the Fresno State Office of Governmental Relations Larry Salinas provides faculty and staff a list of the state propositions that will appear on the ballot.

Proposition 1
Affordable Housing Bond - Issues $4 billion in bonds for housing programs and veterans' home loans
Proposition 2
Mental Health Housing - Authorizes state to use revenue for homelessness prevention housing
Proposition 3
Water Infrastructure Bond - Issues $8.877 billion in bonds for water-related infrastructure and environmental projects (Includes $5 million for Fresno State to conduct research)
Proposition 4
Children’s Hospital Bond - Issues $1.5 billion in bonds for children's hospitals
Proposition 5
Requirement Changes Property Transfers - Revises process for homebuyers who are age 55 or older, or severely disabled to transfer their tax assessments
Proposition 6
Gas Tax Repeal - Repeals 2017's fuel tax and vehicle-fee increases. Requires public vote on future increases
Proposition 7
Daylight Saving Time - Authorizes the Legislature to provide for permanent daylight saving time, if the federal government allows
Proposition 8
Regulates Dialysis Clinic Charges - Requires dialysis clinics to issue refunds for revenue above a certain amount
Proposition 10
Rent Control Authority - Allows local governments to regulate rent
Proposition 11
Emergency Personnel On-Call Breaks - Allows ambulance providers to require workers to remain on-call during breaks
Proposition 12
New Standards for Confinement of Farm Animals - Bans the sale of non-compliant products
