Congratulations to the Kremen School of Education and Human Development faculty for serving as dissertation committee members on this year's Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate's Dissertation Practice of the Year Award.
Dr. Suzanne Rodriguez, a 2019 Kremen alumna, won the award for her dissertation on "The Urgency of Principal Professional Development and the Implications for Policy and Practice," which focuses on how principals should receive support during their tenure. Rodriguez also created a process as to how school districts across the nation can accomplish this goal.
Dr. Jennifer Moradian Watson served as the dissertation chair. Drs. Mariya Yukhymenko and Don Wise served as dissertation committee members.
Larry Salinas, executive director of governmental relations, was appointed to the board of directors for Donor Network West, the organ and tissue recovery organization for northern California and Nevada.
Organ donation is personal to Salinas. His 5-year-old grandson, Austin, is in need of a kidney transplant.
Salinas will be instrumental in advocating for organ and tissue donation at many levels and will help give hope to the thousands of people waiting on the transplant list.
