University Advancement is accepting nominations for 2022-23 honorary doctoral degrees given by the California State University Board of Trustees.
Candidates must demonstrate high moral character, be distinguished in their respective fields, and be someone who is widely recognized. Nominees must also have demonstrated intellectual and humane values that are consistent with the ideals of the CSU, the aims of higher education and the highest ideals of the person’s chosen fields.
Last May, Fresno State awarded two honorary doctorate degrees. Internationally renowned artist, Judy Chicago, received an honorary degree of fine arts. Longtime local educator, Antonio “Tony” Petrosino, received an honorary doctorate of humane letters.
The following categories can be recognized:
- Doctor of Fine Arts (D.F.A.)
- Doctor of Humane Letters (L.H.D.)
- Doctor of Laws (LL.D.)
- Doctor of Letters (Litt.D.)
- Doctor of Science (Sc.D.)
