The Pay It Forward Luncheon Series, hosted by the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, brings together students, the campus community and community business leaders. Each session is led by different business professionals to highlight a new, informative topic.
Nishan Majarian is the CEO of Plant Pathways, which uses proprietary data science to address the global public health crisis of sugar overconsumption by delivering a scalable, agriculture-based alternative to sugar for product formulation. Prior to Plant Pathways, in 2004, Nish co-founded Agrian, North America's most widely adopted ag software and technology company. In August 2020, Agrian was one of nine foundational acquisitions that formed TELUS Agriculture and Consumer Goods. Nish and Agrian have received numerous recognitions, including The PrecisionAg Institute as Entrepreneur of the Year, The Ag Business of the Year, and as a Top-Five Child-Friendly Business.
Before founding Agrian, Nish was vice president of sales for the political action network Grassroots Enterprise, acquired by Edelman, and founder and CEO of NetFile, the nation's leading electronic campaign finance reporting company. He began his career as a personal aid to the Governor of California, mainly focusing on agricultural issues.
Nish holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Fresno State. He and his wife have two children, and he enjoys hiking, skiing, and traveling in his free time.
