Unique student-designed apparel will be sold at the Craig School of Business Student Store Pop-Up Shop, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the walkway between the University Student Union and the University Center.
The pop-up shop is a project of a new business class, Entrepreneurship 155E, “Managing the New Venture,” taught by Akhil Kanodia, clinical professor of practice in entrepreneurship at the Craig School of Business. This class teaches students entrepreneurship skills through creating and managing a working business. Kanodia’s students have managed every aspect of opening the pop-up shop, including designing original products, sourcing manufacturers and suppliers, setting prices, marketing and retail sales.
Kanodia said that the purpose of the class is to both teach foundational knowledge of entrepreneurship and provide hands-on experiential learning of entrepreneurial work.
All of the products sold at the pop-up shop are unique designs not available anywhere else. The pop-up store will accept credit and debit card payments, but not cash.
