After 31 years of service, Amalia Olvera is retiring.
Olvera began her employment at Fresno State in 1979 as a student assistant in the Department of Chicano and Latin American Studies, which was known as La Raza Studies. She became a staff member as a clerical assistant in 1988 for the same department until she was hired by Plant Operations in 1990. While continuing her administration support for Plant Ops, Olvera completed her B.A. in Chicano Studies in 1996.
Olvera is a committed and dedicated employee who is willing to go the extra mile to help our “customers.” She has always been known throughout the campus community as THE VOICE of the department and will certainly be missed by many of us. Her last work day is Friday, Nov. 1.
Please join Facilities Management in the Vintage Room from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1 to bid her farewell and wish her only the best!
