Let’s keep the conversation going about ending domestic violence. For far too long, domestic violence was considered a “family issue” and so it was kept private. But in reality, domestic violence is not just a “family issue,” it causes significant harm to the physical and mental health of survivors and their families, undermines their economic stability and overall well-being, and affects the whole community. Let's create a culture that does not tolerate abuse.
This Thursday, Oct. 21, we invite you to participate in National Wear Purple Day. Wear purple to show your support for survivors of domestic/dating violence and bring awareness so intimate partner violence will end. When you wear purple you are showing not only your friends and family that you are a safe and supportive person, but to the world that you stand behind ending domestic violence. To show your support, post a picture of yourself wearing purple using #PurpleThursday and tag @FSHealthCenter.
You can also request training for your class, office or department.
