Join the Arne Nixon Center and the League of Women Voters of Fresno for conversation with author and editor of Bitch Media, Evette Dionne. She will talk about her book "Lifting as We Climb: Black Woman’s Battle for the Ballot Box" and Black women’s roles in today’s politics. The talk will be followed by a moderated Q&A.
With the help of Dionne, we hope to shed light on how Black women were involved in the Women’s Suffrage Movement and their influence in politics. This event is of interest to anyone interested in learning about African American history, educators wanting to know about texts related to Ethnic Studies, and anyone interested in writing, editing and publishing.
Date: Wednesday, Oct. 20
Time: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Register: The event will occur on Zoom. Register in advance to receive the links.
