Leadership Skills for Managers and Department Chairs
Principles of Supervision (2 Day Workshop)
Mon., Oct. 15 & Tues., Oct. 16, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Library 2134
This workshop will focus on developing supervisory skills in a higher education environment. Through learning, discussion, practice and reflection, participants will gain a greater awareness of their own supervisory skills and learn strategies to more effectively lead others. The workshop will guide learners through five modules focused on:
- Managing Yourself
- Promoting Communication
- Managing the Work
- Understanding Your Management Style
- Creating a Positive and Productive Work Environment
This course requires attendance at two full days and will require some independent work and follow up with an 'accountability partner.' Participants must commit to attending both days to complete the training.
Breakfast, lunch, snacks, a workbook and an online supervisor toolkit will be provided.
Enrollment is limited to 20 participants.

Yoga

A mind-body practice that combines gentle stretching exercises, controlled breathing, relaxation techniques and restorative poses.
