October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Fresno State Survivor Advocacy Services is hosting a resource fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 in the Memorial Gardens (near the water fountain). We will have campus and community resources.
Domestic violence is a pattern of coercive, controlling behavior that can include physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, financial and other forms of harm. Its intention is for one partner to gain power and control of the other partner by utilizing tactics, such as threats, harassment, putting someone down, pressuring someone around sex, and/or controlling finances. #Every1KnowsSome1 who has been impacted, and we all have a role to play in ending it. We all have the power to create communities where healthy relationships thrive and abusive ones don’t.
We invite you to our resource fair to learn more about the impact of domestic violence and the resources dedicated to assist survivors towards healing, while also learning how you can provide support.
