Sam Ray has been employed at Fresno State for four years this September. She is the first communications specialist for the Kremen School of Education and Human Development and works closely with staff, faculty and administrators, both across Kremen and the University, to find ways to help spread awareness of the positive things happening at Fresno State.
Nancy Rosales has served at Fresno State for three and a half years and worked diligently this past year to create online resources to support SI Leaders to confidently continue their work with students in the virtual environment.

Move from surviving to thriving by learning how to effectively leverage your Top 5 Strengths in any challenge you're currently facing. Explore how your unique Strengths complement one another, allowing you to tackle any challenge with grace, ease, and confidence rather than force, difficulty and frustration. Come with a challenge you're facing, and by the end of the session you will be empowered to navigate forward with the skills, mindset and drive that's already within you. Breath and Health

Have you ever experienced how altering the pattern you breathe improves your state of mind? Come experience the intimate link between our breath and our emotions. During the session, we will do some light gentle stretches and guided meditation. Come prepared to leave this 50-minute virtual session afresh, anywhere you are!
Avoiding Bias in Hiring
9 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, Zoom
During this overview of implicit bias and its impact on the hiring process, you will be provided tools and strategies for ensuring that the best candidates apply and are hired for open positions. This highly interactive session will provide time for discussion and opportunities to practice implementing the strategies presented. Workshop enrollees are encouraged to complete an online exercise in preparation for the workshop: Implicit Association Test (IAT).
Train the Trainer (series, session 1 of 4)
10:30 a.m. – Noon Wednesday, Oct. 13, Zoom
Train the Trainer is a cohort-based, four-session series for campus subject matter experts who currently create or deliver presentations at meetings or trainings. The series also provides a welcoming, safe, and fun space for employees who have no presentation experience but wish to learn more about and practice this skill set. Special emphasis is placed on virtual training and delivery. Attendance at all four sessions is required, and participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
CSUBUY Marketplace
2 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, Zoom
CSUBUY Marketplace is a CSU system-wide initiative to streamline the purchasing and payment processes on campus. Training will review how to navigate through the CSUBUY Marketplace and how to order from the 22 vendors in the marketplace.
Positive Psychology
9 – 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, Zoom
Research has shown that happiness and positivity lead to success. During this workshop we will answer the question: “what fuels success?” Many of us believe we will be happy if we work hard and become successful, however, the formula is backwards. If we choose happiness, the brain works better, and we become successful. Join this engaging and interactive learning experience on how positive psychology can lead to personal and professional success. We will explore the happiness advantage principles that can help shift our mindset through positive psychology.
Winning with a Healthy Lifestyle

Led by Dr. Lisa Herzig, this program offers a holistic approach to reclaiming your health through nutrition coaching and exercise planning, giving you support and tools to cultivate a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
