The College of Health and Human Services is continuing its collaboration with California Health Sciences University on Students and Practitioners for Interprofessional Collaboration and Education (S.P.I.C.E.) — an interprofessional collaborative that brings together health professional students, faculty and community providers to address health challenges facing the Central Valley. The opioid epidemic and mental health crises will be widely discussed through monthly collaborative learning activities and interactive meetings that bring together students and faculty from Fresno State and CHSU, as well as local community health providers. The next virtual session will focus on understanding co-occuring opioid use and mental health disorders.
Date: Saturday, Nov. 14
Time: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Register: HERE
The free monthly sessions are fully virtual, with learning activities that include team simulations, critical review of journal articles and evidence-based best practices, study of clinical cases, and exploration of community agencies and resources. All Fresno State students and faculty from various majors on campus are welcome and encouraged to participate. To learn more, contact Marie Gilbert at mgilbert@csufresno.edu.
