Department Administrative Assistant Contract Data Workshop

This workshop will assist DAAs in creating contracts for temporary faculty and teaching associates. Whether a seasoned DAA or just appointed, this workshop will give you the skills in knowing how to create a contract for a returning temporary faculty and/or a new hire, and how to calculate days for any Late Start/Early Termination contracts. *Please bring your department Order of Assignment and your Class Schedule which shows temp faculty assigned.
Seconds to Survive

Seconds 2 Survive is a program designed to help individuals plan, prepare, practice and perform so that they are empowered to make life saving decisions in the critical first seconds of an emergency.
Undocumented Student Ally Training (Part 2)

Part 2 of a two-part training for faculty/staff/and administrators on undocumented students. Through this training, allies will: increase their knowledge and effectiveness to serve Dreamers on campus; increase their awareness of the needs, concerns, challenges and opportunities for Dreamers; create a welcoming and supportive environment for all Fresno State students.
Safe Zone Workshop: Becoming an Ally
Noon - 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, Library 3212
Safe Zones at Fresno State are individuals or spaces that are safe, open and welcoming to members of the LGBTQ+ community. Workshop attendees will:
- Gain knowledge about the LGBTQ+ community, its struggles, and its history
- Gain an understanding of the experiences that LGBTQ+ individuals face
- Learn skills to help support LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff learn, thrive and grow at Fresno State
Safe Zone members receive a badge that identify them as advocates for the LGBTQ+ community. To become a member, you must attend this Safe Zone introduction training, offered several times each academic year, along with two approved LGBTQ+ campus events. Membership must be renewed each year by attendance of events.
Q.P.R. Suicide Prevention Training
2 - 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, ED 140
Learn to recognize and respond to the warning signs of suicide. In this training you will learn: common misconceptions about suicide, warning signs and risk factors, how to talk to, persuade and refer a person to appropriate campus and community resources. Leadership Skills for Managers and Department Chairs
Situational Leadership

Situational Leadership II is a widely taught leadership model based on work of Ken Blanchard. This is a full-day in-person workshop and will require three hours of online pre-work to introduce participants to the Situational Leadership model. Participants will learn three skills: goal setting, diagnosing and matching, and a new language of leadership that will help you improve the quality and quantity of conversations you have with your team members in order to accelerate development, increase performance and support autonomy. Lunch served. Workbook and an online toolkit will be provided. Pre-work 3 hours.
Dare to Lead (Open to all faculty and staff)
8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, Smittcamp Alumni House
Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, this Dare to Lead full-day workshop will focus on developing the four skills sets of brave leadership — rumbling with vulnerability, living into our values, braving trust and learning to rise. A resource manual will be provided and approximately 30 minutes of pre-work must be completed. Lunch will be provided.

Butts N Gutts

This challenging 30-minute class is specifically designed to target your core and lower body through a combination of exercises utilizing equipment and your own body weight. This class will work on shaping and toning your abs, butt, hips and thighs.
Couch to 5k
5:10 - 6 p.m. Tuesday, meet in front of the library
Build endurance and speed as we gradually train for a 5k race at the end of the semester. For runners of all abilities!
Yoga

A mind-body practice that combines gentle stretching exercises, controlled breathing, relaxation techniques and restorative poses.
Pilates

Utilizes non-impact exercises that target the core and develop strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness.
