In an effort to contain costs overall and Kanopy expenses in particular, the Library will need to receive all requests for Kanopy streaming videos by the end of the day on Thursday, Feb. 1. This will allow us to license a collection of films for the following semester at a lower rate than purchasing individual titles throughout the semester. Most Kanopy films cost $150 each for one year of access and the Library spends an average of $20,000 per year on Kanopy films alone.
To suggest a Kanopy film for the Library, go to Kanopy, log in with your Fresno State credentials, and search for the title. If Kanopy offers the film and we have not yet licensed that title, a request form will appear for you to complete. If the film does not appear, then Kanopy does not offer that title.
If you realize that you need a film after the deadline, you will need to purchase a Kanopy license with your professional development or department funds.
The Library appreciates your cooperation in helping us use our limited resources efficiently. If you have questions, contact Darren Atwood at datwood@csufresno.edu or Marianne Foley at mf09@csufresno.edu in Library Acquisitions.
