The Fresno State Jazz Festival concert returns at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Concert Hall. Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for seniors, students and employees.
The concert features the Fresno State Jazz Orchestra directed by Richard Giddens and guest jazz trio Doug Weiss, Melissa Aldana and Colin Stranahan.
Prior to the concert, the Jazz Festival kicks off at 8 a.m. with 18 middle schools, high schools and community college jazz bands who will compete throughout the day. Awards and scholarships to the Stanford Jazz Workshop, La Sierra Creative Arts Camp and to the summer program of the Milestones Jazz Workshop will be announced during the evening concert.
