Greetings Campus Community,
It is my honor and pleasure to announce that the search has been completed, and Robert Guinn has accepted my offer to become our new Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO). Robert brings a strong background from both the private sector and higher education into his new role. Before joining the IT team at Fresno State, Robert spent 18 years in the private sector managing and overseeing Financial Systems, HR/Payroll systems, Fixed Asset and Intranet solutions. During this time, he helped build IT strategic plans and worked with vendors to bring in new technology to the organization. His experience working with executive leadership and boards of directors will benefit Technology Services as we continue our mission to support the campus and our students in a collaborative manner.
As Deputy CIO, Robert will serve as the second-in-command and the chief operating officer for the Technology Services Division. Initially, Robert will oversee our administration and finance team, project management office, and the enterprise and user experience architects. He will play a key role in our campus shared governance/decision-making committees and in the execution of our IT strategic plan.
Robert started his new role on November 1 and will continue serving as Director of Enterprise Applications and Information Systems during a transition period. We will soon begin a search for a new director.
Thank you to Janell Morillo and Brad Barker, who chaired the search committee, and my deep and sincere appreciation goes out to the rest of the search committee.
Please take a moment to congratulate Robert Guinn on his new position and thank him for his ongoing commitment to Fresno State. Congratulations Robert!
Regards,
Orlando Leon, Chief Information Officer
