About the Presenters:
Irene Rios Rodriguez currently serves as a clinical dietitian for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)/Pediatrics Team at Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno. She has worked in the public health and community nutrition fields for a non-profit, a federally qualified health center, and has taught bilingual diabetes management and prevention classes to hundreds of individuals in Fresno County. Rodriguez is a certified lifestyle coach for the CDC Diabetes Prevention Program. She earned her Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in health promotion while completing the Dietetic Internship Program at Fresno State.
Karen Cohen has been a public health professional and registered dietitian for over 20 years. She helps clients meet their goals as a supportive partner and educator. Cohen helps her clients make small, realistic, changes to their food plan over time to promote the best health possible while enjoying delicious and nutritious foods. Cohen currently works as an registered dietician with Dr. Amneet Virk-Dulai, a Fresno-based board certified rheumatologist, where she helps patients with rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases reduce the inflammatory foods they eat.
