The College of Social Sciences is sponsoring Queering Slavic Studies and the Central Valley from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.
The conference is about research around LGBTQ areas, stories about activism around these issues and prospects for the future. Attendees will have a chance to ask questions and interact one-on-one with leading experts on these topics.
The conference came about when Dean Michelle DenBeste learned that the major Slavic Studies conference in the United States — the Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) — would be held in San Francisco. With the conference so nearby, she wanted Fresno State students to have a chance to meet some of the preeminent scholars in their fields right here in Fresno.
Date: Thursday, Nov. 21
Time: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Henry Madden Library 3212 and University Business Center 194 after 1:30 p.m.
