Please join us for the opening of the latest exhibition in the Henry Madden Library Special Collections Research Center.

“Wonders from the Wonderous Collection of John R. Reynolds,” now part of the Donald G. Larson Collection on International Expositions and Fairs, with a special unveiling of Kent Sanctuary’s World’s Fair Holiday Village.

The Larson collection consists of approximately 1,600 books and more than 6,500 pamphlets, postcards, photographs, sheet music and other materials detailing the events of world’s fairs from 1851 to the present. The collection also includes materials about fairs before 1851 (the precursors to what became world’s fairs and expositions) as well as fairs after 1940, including fairs never held due to World War II.

The recent donation of fairs materials by John R. Reynolds will be highlighted during this exhibition.
