The talk will be facilitated by Dr. Cristina Herrera, a faculty member in the Chicano and Latin American Studies Program.
Dr. Cristina Herrera holds a Ph.D in English from Claremont Graduate University and is a professor of Chicano and Latin American Studies. She studies Chicana/Latina literature, with an emphasis on gender, identity, sexuality and womanhood. Her most recent book, "ChicaNerds in Chicana Young Adult Literature: Brown and Nerdy," published by Routledge in July 2020, explores representations of intellect and identity in Chicana young adult fiction.
