Goes Above & Beyond
Kathleen Brassfield, Office of the Provost
When some of our student leaders hit a roadblock in planning a virtual conference, Kathleen came through in a pinch! Her coordination helped solve a problem and ensured a great event.
Bernadette Nelson, Admissions and Recruitment
Bern goes out of her way to ensure that processes are set up correctly, communication is sent and reports are running correctly. She is a true asset to the team and without her work ethic, it would be very hard to stay on track. She is the glue to our team and I truly appreciate her diligence and hard work.
Christine Rotzinger, Admissions and Recruitment
Christine is always willing to go out of her way to ensure staff and student assistants are taken care of. She recently worked with Financial Aid and our student staff to see if they qualified for work studies. This has helped our department's overall budget and allowed for students to work additional hours due to the cost savings. Thank you for all that you do Christine!
Mellissa Jessen-Hiser, Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning
Mellissa and the Richter Center Student Leaders overcame a number of challenges to put on the third annual LIFT Conference this last weekend. This is a conference put on by Fresno State Richter Center Student Leaders or student leaders of service programs across the state. It is the only conference of its kind and attracted over 140 students from around the CSU and UC systems. Putting on any conference is always going to be a challenge but having to do this one virtually added extra hurdles. Despite the obstacles, the conference was a huge success!
Ann Berg, History
Kelly Nelson, Facilities Management
Saved My Bacon!
Chris Beck, College of Health and Human Services, Advising and Career Development Center
Chris worked with his student assistant to find a workaround for students to register for courses while PeopleSoft was down on the Friday of registration. Thanks Chris! You are the best!
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Melissa Perez, College of Science and Mathematics, Deans Office
Melissa has been outstanding in coordinating so many efforts as assistant to the dean. Most relevant at present is her flexibility and attention to detail helping faculty and staff navigate the rapid online changes both to the retention/tenure/promotion process as well as to the change from BizFlow in curriculum processes on campus. Her ability and willingness to be as attentive as possible to requests to address needs related to these new processes have vastly improved efficiencies in the College of Science and Mathematics. The faculty in particular want to thank her for her invaluable help during this time of upheaval!
Eileen Schlundt, Technology Services
Eileen is so patient about helping me work through technology issues. I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world, and I do seem to frequently present her with issues that are a little out of the ordinary. Regardless, she patiently helps me work through the problem and doesn't give up until the issue is resolved. I don't know where I or my entire office staff would be without her assistance!
