Dr. Janice Smith-Warshaw, associate professor in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Deaf Studies, won big at the National Deaf Pickleball Tournament, held in The Villages, Florida. She earned two gold medals, including one in the women's doubles - level 3.5/4.0 (ages 19 - 65+) and the other one in the mixed doubles - level 3.5 (ages 55 - 64). In addition, she was appointed the new vice president of the nonprofit, Deaf Pickleball USA.
Candance Egan, professor, Media, Communications and Journalism Department, received an honorable mention in the Big Apple Film Festival for her TV pilot "Northern Voice."
