Works Above and Beyond
Dolly Huitron, Criminology
Dolly is currently working in two different departments on campus. She works upstairs on the fourth floor of the library, and she is also working here in criminology to train me. She is an unfailingly kind person who is always positive, happy, and more than willing to share her extensive knowledge and expertise. She is an asset to this institution and does all of this with a smile on her face and without complaint. I am very grateful for her time and her mentorship while I take on this role. Thank you, Dolly. You're the best!
Daniel Nguyen, Technology Services
Daniel is very helpful and is great at problem solving. He always meets our technology needs and is willing to go the extra mile. He and his student assistants have amazing customer service, and we greatly appreciate all they do for the campus farm.
Kim Self, Admissions and Recruitment

As a one-woman team, she effectively manages her responsibilities and consistently delivers outstanding results. Kim's remarkable patience and determination enabled her to successfully complete tasks and achieve goals.

Thank you Juan for your patience and step-by-step guidance in helping me create a workflow in Adobe Sign. I couldn't have done it without you.
Belen Vera, Services for Students with Disabilities
Belen has gone out of her way to establish a new avenue to allow for connection with other disability service professionals across the CSU system. I am excited to see this project come to fruition and am proud to work with someone who can put plans into action! Great work, Belen!
Accounting Services
During the Veterans Resource Center recent federal audit, Josie Almeida and her team (Miriam Baustia, Gina Tamez, Cheri Weber) assisted us with additional financial documentation for our five-year audit. We greatly appreciate their attention to detail. What a great team of ladies to work with throughout the year. Truly appreciate their willingness to assist at anytime during the year and providing great customer service towards our military students. Thank you!
Admissions and Recruitment
A High Five to the Transfer Admissions team for going above and beyond these past few years, taking on an extra workload due to limited staffing, and continuing the critical jobs of verifying admissibility and completing upper-division transfer evaluations. The team assists transfer students with a myriad of questions and concerns and makes sure the students start out in the best position possible to efficiently complete their baccalaureate degrees at Fresno State.
Admissions and Recruitment
During our federal audit, the Admissions/Recruitment staff: Maribel Olea, Kimberly Self and Phong Yang assisted us with our request for additional information pertaining to our federal audit without delay and made our process of developing student files in preparation. We greatly appreciate the collaboration and teamwork with this department.
School of Nursing
This last week has been a busy week anticipating early registration beginning 10.30.23. The School of Nursing (SON) staff spent the last few weeks working towards preventing early registration chaos that has happened in semesters past. The goal was to make next week not only smooth for the students but for the SON staff as well. There were team meetings, and multiple lengthy email threads. There was a little anxiety, a little frustration and thankfully a lot of laughter. Not present, was blaming for past semesters chaos. It was about having Plans A, B, C and D. How they'd handle situations and who would handle certain parts. Jeanine, Lily, and Manuel, you all have worked above and beyond. I have never been more proud to be a part of a team like ours. No matter what happens during early registration, we've got this. Thank you for all you do.
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Yvette Gilbert, Music
Yvette handles all of the myriad financial transactions and accounts in the Department of Music — a job with a mind-blowing amount of variables and complexities. She does so with an enviable degree of calmness and clarity, helping all of us creative-types navigate complex systems, so that everything works out well for the students. She is a calm, competent captain that keeps this ship upright. On behalf of the entire department, thank you so much Yvette!
Will Tubbs, Technology Service
I submitted a service request for a new keyboard in one of our classrooms. Will took care of it quickly and made sure it worked properly. I appreciate his excellent customer service!
Rocio Quinones Montano, College of Social Sciences
Rocio was amazing in support of the CSU NAGPRA/CalNAGPRA workshop on 30 October. Rocio went above and beyond to make sure the event ran smoothly and that our campus guests were comfortable. Thank you!
Audrey Rodriguez, Music
Audrey's positive attitude, great sense of humor, and can-do attitude daily uplift all of us in the Music Department. We might be tired, overwhelmed, down, or just getting through our day, but interacting with Audrey makes faculty, staff, and students alike smile, reminding us to savor the little things in life like having a momentary laugh or focusing our attention towards solutions and not complaints. What a tremendous asset Audrey is to us all! Thank you, Audrey, on behalf of everyone in the Music Department!
Teira Wilson, Technology Services
Teira was amazing in making two fillable PDF documents accessible. She was a great person to work with and I greatly appreciated all of her help!

Kelly and her team; Koua Vang and Erin Connor immediately responded to our request for supporting documentation requested by our federal auditor on a moment’s notice. It's refreshing to collaborate with our teams at Fresno State in a welcoming manner and always willing to assist when asked. Thank you!
Modeled Principles of Community
Mikaela Valencia, Criminology
Mikaela was so kind and helpful in supporting Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) with an ADA concern. She had taken measures beyond what was expected to support a message that typically comes from SSD to ensure that a student's accommodation was handled appropriately. Her small gesture of collaboration really made our office feel seen, understood, respected, and valued, and aided in ensuring a student's needs were met. Thank you, Mikaela, for your support. My team and I appreciate you!

Annette, I can't thank you enough for helping me out. You truly saved my bacon! Thanks a million!
Syreeta Martinez, Lyles College of Engineering

Lars Newlander, Technology Services
Lars assisted our entire Special Collections Team and panelists, as we navigated hosting a Zoom webinar (Oct. 17) to a large number of catalogers (685) who attended from across the country and internationally, from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Greece, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Lars provided excellent customer service and great advice based on his vast experience with hosting such webinars. He patiently helped our team rehearse a couple of times, answering many questions. He arranged for reminders to be sent to the participants. He sent out our survey to participants. Most importantly, he helped instill in us the information we needed (and confidence) to make the webinar a huge success. Many thanks to Lars!
Denise Pearcy, Printing Services
Denise saved me at the very last minute! She graciously and quickly printed up event programs for me. Thank you!
Isela Reza-Rogers, University Registrar
Isela provided exceptional service and wrote a student query, within a short period of time, which saved us hours of research relating to our federal audit documentation for the Veterans Resource Center. Isela has been a wonderful resource for us in the past and she truly did Save Our Bacon!!!
