Works Above and Beyond
Amber Esquivel, Outreach and Special Programs
Congratulations to Amber, counselor for the Native American Initiative, for putting on a stellar youth conference. She coordinated this annual conference and worked with community organizations to put together a day of learning, empowerment, and cultural awareness. Thank you, Amber, for creating this inviting space and showing the youth that they belong.
Cynthia Hanks, Accounting Services
This shoutout is long overdue. Cynthia was extremely resourceful in helping me learn the ins and outs of P2P. What I thought was going to be a quick 10-minute meeting to show me how to set up the notifications on the system turned into an hour-long one-on-one guidance session on how this system works. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to teach me. I will never forget your kindness.
Bernadette Nelson, Admissions and Recruitment
Bern has worked on this campus for 35 years and I have had the pleasure of working with her for at least 23. She is always willing to help you when you reach out to her for support with understanding something. She is a dedicated and detailed person who cares about the work she does. Bern, thank you for your support throughout the years.
Pam Weiner, Admissions and Recruitment
Congratulations, Pam. On behalf of the entire team, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your 20 years of dedicated service in the admissions office. Your unwavering commitment, invaluable knowledge, and wisdom have been an incredible asset to our department. While you will undoubtedly be missed, we are excited for the new opportunities and bigger adventures that lie ahead for you. Thank you for everything you’ve contributed and for being such an inspiring part of our team. Wishing you nothing but the best in all that comes next. With deepest appreciation, Upper Division Transfer Team.

I have worked with Pam for 20 years and she truly cares about the work she does and the students she serves. She is detailed and is always willing to share her knowledge with you. I wish her the best as she retires. Pam your dedication to the university and your hard work will be missed. Enjoy the next chapter, you earned it.
Saved My Bacon
Michael Ballin, The Amendola Family Student Cupboard
Thank you Michael for supporting Outreach and Special Programs and the Native American Initiative in the delivery of our Pepsi donation for the Native American Youth Conference. Our office was lacking a vehicle to transport a donation made for the youth conference and he saved the day by assisting us in ensuring that we could provide the products to conference participants. Thank you for your contribution and ensuring that the conference was a success.
