Dr. Kara Zografos was named dean of the College of Health and Human Services, starting immediately.
A compassionate leader and dedicated scholar, Dr. Zografos has made a significant impact in her 17 years on campus serving the college in a variety of leadership roles, including special assistant to the dean, associate dean, and most recently, as interim dean. In these capacities, she successfully led various student success initiatives, program accreditations and assessments, and efforts to support faculty with research and grants. Additionally, her commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion led to various training opportunities for faculty and staff, and the integration of these concepts into all assessment practices within the college.
Before assuming her role of leadership at the college level, Dr. Zografos was chair of the Department of Public Health for seven years. Prior to that, she served as director of the Master of Public Health program, and was a faculty member. She has devoted all her career to Fresno State!
A proud two-time alumna of Fresno State, Dr. Zografos earned her Bachelor of Science in community health and a Master of Public Health in health promotion and education from the university, before obtaining her Doctor of Public Health from the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University.
