Fresno State’s Neum Native American Student Association hosted its 31st annual Fresno State “We Are Still Here” Powwow this weekend in the Maple Mall off of Shaw and Maple Ave.

Tabulator: Jennifer Morris-Valenzuela, Dine (Navajo); Head dancers include: Head Gourd Dancer: Ron Sixbears Alec Sr. US Army Vietnam, Mono. Head Man Dancer: Michael Runningwind, Six Nations Seneca/Chiricahua Apache. Head Woman Dancer: Angela Briones, Navajo/Kickapoo. Head Teen Boy Dancer: Brent Morris-Yazzie, Dine (Navajo). Head Teen Girl Dancer: Sha-nii-ka Calvin, Paiute/Chumash. Head Junior Boy Dancer: Khaeleb Davis, Mono/Choinumni; and Head Junior Girl Dancer: Veronica Lewis, Mono/Choinumni/Chuckchansi. Host Northern Drum: Young Eagle Creek, Arizona and Host Southern Drum: So-Ex Style, California with Guest Drum: Bearsprings, California.
Food vendors, cultural displays, arts and crafts and much more were featured. There was also a dance contest. All dancers and drummers were welcome as the free public event celebrated the Native American people and their ancestors.
