Works Above and Beyond
Kelley Avila, Undergraduate Degree Evaluations
While Kelley and the rest of the UDE team are always incredible, I'm super appreciative of her this week specifically as she took the time to look up a significant amount of courses from multiple colleges to see if they would be accepted by the university for a student. Thanks to her, that student will likely have an easier time getting into the BSN program and will graduate sooner!
Esther Gomez, Human Resources
Esther quickly became a valuable team member during our centralization of the DAA in CSB. She was always willing to go above and beyond to help a student, faculty and of course any of our six dept chairs. Esther made the workdays fun and enjoyable, she was always smiling and supportive. Esther got along with everyone and always made time to speak with them. She is now in HR, and I have no doubt that she will be an asset and loyal member of their team.
Saved my Bacon
Laura Ibarra, Chicano and Latin American Studies Department
A huge thank you to Laura for working with me to identify areas that needed clarity on one of our projects. Laura also went above and beyond to provide potential trouble areas we should consider. I greatly appreciated her willingness to help as well as her input. Thank you, Laura!
Amy Luna, Police Department
Amy has been a huge help to me with an upcoming presentation. She took time out of her busy schedule to help me practice and gave me really good feedback! Thanks to her, I feel much more confident. Thank you so much Amy for her help on this one!
Provided Excellent Customer Service
Joshua Webster, Human Resources
Huge thank-you to Joshua Webster in Human Resources. Joshua listened intently to a situation that caused us to revisit decisions made in the past. His empathetic thinking and flexibility allowed us to solve a potential problem in three hours before it became a three-month ordeal. Human Resources doesn’t always get the spotlight for extraordinary support, but they often provide it. Thank you, Joshua, for your ongoing and exceptional work.
Modeled Principles of Community
Erika Castanon, Office of New Student and Family Programs (Dog Days)
Simply stated, Erika is kind. She works with skill and heart, both of which have our students at the forefront. Erika leans into collaboration and collegiality, she leans into all that we can do rather than all that is impossible to do. Erika, thank you for the energy you bring along with you regardless of which space you occupy. You are appreciated!
