Research Award: Dr. Hongwei Dong
The Research and Awards committee noted his prolific publication record in high-impact nationally and internationally recognized journals, and his first or second authorship for all of his publications.
Lecturer Award: Dr. Elvia Rodriguez
The committee acknowledged her record of teaching for both History and Chicano and Latin American Studies, as well as her involvement with the Strategic Teacher Education Partnership through the Kremen School, and serving on graduate thesis committees.

Service Award: Drs. Melanie Ram and Maritere López
The committee determined that the service records of both Dr. Ram and Dr. López warranted a tie. As the committee stated in their decision, “Dr. López has made major contributions to the University as director of the Graduate Net Initiative, which has been instrumental in supporting the success of first-generation graduate students. She also has a consistent record of service at every level of the University and has been involved in significant community service. Dr. Ram has been a key vocal member of the Academic Senate for many years and has been involved in major University-level decisions. She has participated in extensive committee work at every level of the University and her nomination was supported by multiple colleagues in her department.”

Teaching Award: Dr. Luis Fernando Macías
Dr. Macías is well-respected by his students and peers in the classroom, he is actively engaged in collaborative teaching opportunities and refining his pedagogy to meet the needs of a diverse student population, and he provides critical support for the success of our DACA students. Dr. Macías is recognized by his peers for leaving a positive impression on students, as evidenced by his recruitment of new majors and his remarkable student evaluations.
