The Fresno Math Circle is a free enrichment program for children in grades three through 12 interested in mathematics.
Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are currently being accepted. The application consists of filling out a form and submitting your child's work on preview problems. The forms and more information about the program are available on the Math Circle website.
The purpose of the Fresno Math Circle is to introduce children to interesting mathematical ideas that are not taught in school, to work on challenging problems, to discuss important concepts at a greater depth than is usually done in school, to develop logic and reasoning skills, and, very importantly, to make friends and have fun with mathematics.
The program is taught by Fresno State mathematics faculty and assisted by students. In addition to bi-weekly meetings, the Fresno Math Circle hosts a few local and national mathematics competitions as well as preparation sessions.
