We are pleased to share that Jaime Horio has been appointed as the new director of Environmental Health & Safety and Risk Management.

Jaime has served as the interim director since June 2023 and has extensive experience in environmental health and safety. In 2018, he was appointed as a specialist in the department where his responsibilities included coordinating the Radioactive Materials Program, and providing oversight of environmental programs, including hazardous waste, air permits and storm water. Prior to joining campus, Jamie worked for the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and in private manufacturing at E&J Gallo Winery.

Jamie graduated from Fresno State in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in health science, environmental health and industrial hygiene. He is a certified registered environmental health specialist, water treatment operator and water distribution operator.
