In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the latest episode of "A Bulldog State of Mind" podcast shines a spotlight on an important and often under-discussed topic: men’s mental health. This month, we’re joined by Zafar Sumler, a licensed marriage and family therapist at the Student Health and Counseling Center, for a thoughtful and empowering conversation.
In this episode, we unpack where and how many of us — especially men — first learned about mental health, and how those early messages continue to shape how we care for ourselves today. Together, we explore how we can reframe the conversation and break the stigma around men's mental health, while creating a space for vulnerability and support. Zafar also shares practical advice on how to begin the process of seeking help, and why prioritizing mental health is an act of strength — not weakness.
