Dr. Monique Bell, associate professor of marketing, received the 2022 Education Award from the Association of African American Vintners (AAAV). The education award recognizes individuals who are contributing to the wine industry through teaching, facilitating learning, research and skill development. Bell received the award in recognition of her research on diversity and inclusion in the wine industry, including her study “Terroir Noir: 2020 Study of Black Wine Entrepreneurs.” Bell was presented with the award at AAAV’s 20th anniversary symposium on May 21.
Dr. Veena R. Howard, endowed chair in Jain and Hindu Dharma, and professor, Department of Philosophy, presented at the 2022 Pacific North West American Academy of Religion Society of Biblical Literature conference, "Spiritual but not Religious: Rethinking the Dialectics of the Spiritual and the Religious through Jain and Hindu Dharma.”
