What began as a "bold idea" in the 2017 Bold Ideas Challenge has now come to fruition in Fresno State's newest employee recognition program — High Five. Click here to read about how the program began.
High Fives are easy to give — simply go to the High Five website on the Organizational Excellence webpage, click “Give a High Five” and fill out the form to send kudos to anyone on campus. Your message will be delivered straight to their inbox, and recipients will be acknowledged weekly in Campus News.
Read below how your colleagues are going above and beyond to help the campus community.

Goes Above & Beyond
Chris Beck, Advising and Career Development Center College of Health and Human Services
Chris is an excellent adviser to students. He reaches out with questions to help individual students and he also reaches out regularly to brainstorm ways to help the entire student transfer population. Chris is always ready to learn a new tool or how to leverage an old tool in a new way to help his students, as well. His ideas are always well-thought out and student-focused. He works tirelessly to help students in the College of Health and Human Services. Chris sees the students as not just students, but also as people who need support. Chris's analytical mind also makes him a great asset on many campus committees where his input is helpful and valued. I know that I can reach out to him with questions as he is always collegial in taking the time to answer them. Kudos to you, Chris!
Marie Tongson-Fernandez, Office of Institutional Effectiveness
Marie went above and beyond by putting in extra effort to help make the Spring 2021 Students' Symposium a pleasant experience for students and faculty participants. She took personal initiative to resolve unexpected technical issues and helped with re-recording of a presentation, thus enabling the work of my students to come to fruition. Marie also shared at the Students' Symposium. This is an example of how one person’s thoughtfulness can make a positive difference and help turn a seemingly hopeless situation around.
Sheri Osborn, Psychology
Despite being the only staff person in her department at the moment, she volunteered to help the dean's office distribute commencement tickets to students. We appreciate your hard work serving faculty and students, Sheri. Thank you!
