Dr. Sarah Lam in the Division of Continuing and Global Education is retiring. Sarah will be stepping down from her position as the university’s Senior International Officer on July 1 and entering the Faculty Early Retirement Program.
Sarah first became acquainted with Fresno State campus as an International Student from Hong Kong. Sarah graduated from the joint doctorate program between UC Davis and Fresno State in 1998. Afterwards, Sarah practiced as a marriage and family therapist in the Fresno community until she joined Fresno State as a full-time faculty member in 2001.
Sarah rose through the ranks of the Kremen School of Education and Human Development gracefully, holding offices of program coordinator, department chair and interim associate dean. The Division of Continuing and Global Education hired Sarah in 2016 as the assistant vice president for International Affairs. She has led our campus’ international efforts for seven years with distinction, humility and humanity.
Continuing and Global Education is hosting a retirement celebration as she enters FERP. This retirement celebration is on Wednesday, May 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Smittcamp Alumni House.
