Jim Michael’s Retirement Celebration is Wednesday, May 17, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the Residence Dining Hall.
Jim Michael has been with Fresno State for over 27 years. He joined our University in November 1989 as an Operating Systems Analyst to help as we migrated to a new IBM mainframe computer. Jim became Associate Director of Operating Systems in 2001, and after serving in a variety of roles he was named executive director of Technology Services in August 2012.
He has been an active participant in many campus committees, is a founding member of the Fresno State staff mentoring program, and has also served on the system-wide IT Advisory Council (ITAC), and a number of other CSU committees. The community service he is most proud of includes volunteering for Yosemite National Park, Special Olympics, the Fresno Collaborative Regional Initiative and Regional Jobs Initiative, and with the world’s first computer users’ group, SHARE.
