Marianne Foley, librarian in the Library, published the article “Trends in streaming video usage at a university during the COVID-19 pandemic” in the peer-reviewed Journal of Electronic Resources Librarianship.
Dr. Annette Levi, professor in the Agricultural Business Department, currently serves as a board member for the NAREE Advisory Board that advises the U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary (and Congressional committees) on food and agricultural research, education, extension and economic priorities and policies.
As a representative for Non-Land Grant colleges and universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions, she works with stakeholders nationwide, helps hold regional and national stakeholder listening sessions, provides consultation to federal granting programs, and develops reports and related recommendations that are vital to the success of food, forestry, and agricultural programs.
Examples of recent board recommendations relate to 1) expanding current plant genetic banks to include more native and wild species and 2) safeguarding and expanding microbial populations in public genetic resource banks.
Julie Renee Moore, Special Collections Catalog Librarian, conducted a workshop on Feb. 24, "Best Practices for Cataloging Objects Using RDA and MARC 21," along with Jessica Janecki (Duke University) and Rob Freeborn (Pennsylvania State University) for the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries. The 3-hour workshop had 675 registered participants meeting through the Zoom webinar format. Moore, Janecki and Freeborn are the authors/editors of the widely used book (among catalogers), Best Practices for Cataloging Objects Using RDA and MARC 21 (2020). The book is published on the OLAC website.

Max Tsai, Digital Transformation [DX] and Innovation Officer for Technology Services was recently recognized as a Distinguished Innovator by Cal State Innovate. Tsai, along with the talented team of student assistants and interns has cultivated, proposed, designed, and delivered innovative projects and prototypes in the Dx Hub to support Fresno State and the broader CSU IT community. These innovative projects directly connect to student success within and beyond our campus community.
