John Henson (Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education) will receive the Distinguished Teaching Award this year at the American Meat Science Association Reciprocation Meats Conference in Kansas City, MO. Only one individual is selected each year among all meat science instructors across the country.
The award was established to recognize excellence in the teaching of undergraduate and graduate meat science courses and the impact on the lives of those students in a highly positive manner.
Brent Auernheimer (Computer Science) was appointed Affiliate Graduate Faculty in the Information & Computer Science Department at the University of Hawaii. Affiliate Graduate Faculty "possesses a specific expertise or background that may contribute to a student’s graduate work, but is not employed by UH. Such faculty may include members of the local community or other universities who possess the appropriate terminal degree and are otherwise qualified to work with graduate students."
