Works Above and Beyond
Martin Alvarado, Admissions and Recruitment
Martin Alvarado is amazing! He worked so hard in planning Preview Day! Big shoutout to Martin Alvarado for his dedication to one of our largest events!
Tyler Lovejoy, Library
High Five to Tyler Lovejoy for working above and beyond. Tyler has been taking beautiful professional photographs throughout the 2023-24 academic year for the events surrounding our two exhibitions in Special Collections, “Unseen Labor” and “Words Matter!” March 11, 2024, we had a “Stitch-In” in Special Collections, and Tyler once again took amazing photographs of the stitchers, the workshop instructor (Prof. Hilary Dildine), and the textile art pieces that the participants were creating. Tyler takes these photographs, always showing kindness, care, and respect. These photographs will serve us well as historical reminders of these exhibitions and their accompanying events for years to come. Many thanks to Tyler!
Lars Newlander, Technology Services
High Five to Lars Newlander for working above and beyond! He did a wonderful job in providing excellent technical support to our Special Collections Team in the Library and the four panelists, as we navigated hosting a hybrid Zoom webinar (February 21, 2024) to a large number of catalogers (396) who attended from across the U.S., Canada, the U.K, Ireland, and the Philippines. He provided great advice based on his wealth of knowledge and experience with hosting such webinars. He and Classroom Video Services all came to see our space for a prior in-person meeting. Lars met with us for a dry run. He arranged for reminders to be sent to the participants. Lars set us up for success! I am very grateful for all that Lars has done to support
us, always going above and beyond with patience, kindness, and respect. Thank you, Lars!
Lily Oceguera, Business Advising and Student Experience
Lily has been such a great leader in our office during the transition of adding staff. She keeps our office informed of future changes and is overall an amazing coworker.
Ashley Smith, Business Advising and Student Experience
Ashley did such an amazing job organizing and planning our Community College Open House. She helped bring four colleges to campus, organized transportation, department chairs and the food (yum!)
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Tiffany Burmeister, Warehouse and Property Services
Tiffany always provides excellent customer service! I had an unusual surplus request, and she was able to help out on the documentation forms.
Antoinette Castanon, Procurement and Support Services
Antoinette has always been very helpful when I have called with questions and needing assistance with P2P. She makes sure I fully understand the issue before hanging up. Thank you so much for your patience with me Antoinette.
Marie Cunningham, Accounting Services
Any time I have a question or need assistance when it comes to AP related things Marie has always been VERY helpful. She's also patient with those of us that are newer to the AP processes.
Andrew Lohuis, Technology Services
High Five to Andrew Lohuis from Classroom Video Services for providing excellent customer service! Andrew helped to provide technical support to our Special Collections Team in the Library for a hybrid Zoom webinar on Feb. 21, 2024. I especially appreciated Andrew coming over early to make sure that we were set up with the appropriate equipment and for keeping us safe by taping down the cables. All of those details matter! Thank you, Andrew!
Rico Lozano, Facilities Management
High Five to Rico Lozano for providing excellent customer service! Rico was so helpful in setting up for the “Stitch-In” in Special Collections on March 11, 2024. I very much appreciated it that he came back to check on us to see if everything was working out. When we thought we might need a couple more tables, he happily brought them to us. He is such a joy to work with! Thank you, Rico!
Jeff Rattana, Technology Services
High Five to Jeff Rattana from Classroom Video Services for providing excellent customer service! Jeff did a great job in helping to provide technical support to our Special Collections Team in the Library for a hybrid Zoom webinar on Feb. 21, 2024. The talk was about “Unseen Labor” in the Library. Jeff provides vital unseen labor to all of us who are doing these webinars. I especially appreciated him coming over early to make sure we had all the appropriate equipment, setting up, and helping us to get adjusted to the new equipment that he brought from CVS. I also appreciated his efficiency. Thank you, Jeff!
Deborah Reba, Technology Services
This commendation could well have been under "Saved My Bacon" too. Deborah restored my email account the day before my scheduled MSTI CSET Science Workshop. The problem is my email database is very large, and, sending out email blasts exceeds the Google mail volume,
resulting in my account being suspended. So - Deborah walked me through setting up a Google Group to avoid this problem in the future. Thank you, Deborah!
Teira Wilson, Technology Services
Thank you Teira for the Digital Accessibility training that you lead. I cannot tell you how thankful I was for your willingness to take extra time of your time to assist me to make sure I understood the material. Your composure in demonstrating each step was very helpful and greatly
appreciated!
