Fresno State C.A.M.P. (California Assistance Migrant Program) and the Richter Center are teaming up with the Central California Blood Center for the Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive this week.
The drive will kick off from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the Residence Dining Hall and will continue from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, March 27 and 28, at the University Student Union and Maple Mall.
C.A.M.P. participates in the Cesar E. Chavez Blood drive annually in March. Each year, one C.A.M.P. student takes the lead in executing the three-day event. This year, Anayeli Morales, a senior majoring in health science-health administration, is facilitating the blood drive.
Along with C.A.M.P. and the Richter Center, senior public relations students in the Department of Media, Communications and Journalism will also be assisting with the blood drive through promotion, event support and social media.
To donate blood, you must be in good general health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be at least 17 years old. Photo ID and social security number are required at donor registration. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids four hours prior to donation. Donating blood is not painful and takes less than an hour.
