How long have you worked at Fresno State?
Six years.

What drew you to work at Fresno State, and what has kept you here?
The warmth of the accountancy team from Fresno State during my interview year. I had been at the AAA (American Accounting Association) conference just before the end of my doctoral degree and participated in the career fair.

What’s something about your department or role people may not know?
The accounting faculty are very playful. Students come to us a little nervous of the rigor of accounting, but our faculty like to put people at ease.

What accomplishment or project are you most proud of in your career?
I enjoyed developing my carbon emissions tracking systems embedded in cost-accounting tools for sustainability. I am very proud that the original innovation plus spinoffs have earned me several recognitions and awards given by the global business community (PRME - Principles of Responsible Management Education) and national accounting bodies (AAA and the AICPA - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants).

Are you from the Valley, or did you come here from somewhere else?
I migrated from Florida.

Are you connected to Fresno State through family or community traditions?
Actually I am not, but I really love the student body.

What do you enjoy most about your workday?
I love learning from the students.

What’s one fun or unusual fact about you (past job, hidden talent, unique experience)?
I am very artistic. I came from a prior architecture background so I bring that into my accounting presentations and teach students to incorporate fun communication styles into accounting information.

What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
Read or watch fantasy art and stories. I am into Fourth Wing and the ACOTAR series.
