Dr. Reuben Addo, assistant professor in the Department of Social Work Education, published “I Don’t Wanna Be around Nobody: A Retrospective Interview of Homeless Social Networks” in the Journal of Social Service Research.
Dr. Miguel Perez, professor in the Department of Public Health, published "Promoting Healthy Lifestyles Among College Students" in Facultad de Medicina Humana URP, as well as "Orientations to Happiness and University Students' Engagement during the COVID-19 Era: Evidence from Six American Countries" in the International Journal of Educational Psychology.

Dr. Tania Pacheco-Werner, co-director of the Central Valley Health Policy Institute, was selected by Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula as "Woman of the Year" for the 31st assembly district, in recognition of her leadership with the Fresno COVID-19 Equity Project and her commitment to the quality of life of disadvantaged and marginalized communities. While leading the health policy institute, Pacheco-Werner has championed accessible and equitable health for the Central Valley region and beyond. In addition to her role at Fresno State, Pacheco-Werner is also on the governing board of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and the California Air Resources Board.
The Department of Public Health hosted the fourth International Teleconference on March 15, an interdisciplinary event that included presentations on “Current Events in Global Public Health” from faculty and students from Colombia, Chile, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and the U.S. The event was coordinated and hosted by Dr. Helda Pinzón-Perez, in collaboration with graduate students from PH 225A and 225B, as well as Dr. Miguel Perez and Dr. Kara Zografos. During the conference, Dr. Jaymin Kwon co-presented on "Spatio-Temporal Analysis of the Roadside Transportation Related Air Quality and Neighborhood Characterization."
